    Artisans London

Artisans London is an umbrella group including: Forest City Decorative Artists, London Stained Glass Guild, miniaturists, Diane’s Scrapbooking, Beading by Michelle and is the home of the Kids Do Art Program for children ages 6 to 14. Representatives from each of these groups will be at the Fair doing live demonstrations. Take a few minutes and watch how to paint using acrylics, watercolours and oils. See the art of stained glass creation, jewellery design and making miniature furniture. Learn about the Kids Do Art Program and enjoy the talents of some imaginative youngsters.

    Bunka Embroidery

Bunka is a type of embroidery done with a punch needed and a special rayon lily yarn, manufactured in Japan. Rayon lily yarn is the most versatile thread used in any form of embroidery. It can be used not only in its usual 2/4 pull form but also in ¼ pull, ¾ pull, unpulled, glued, waxed, polished, feathered and brushed. Working the picture with a punch needle from the front or back of the canvas is a variation to the European punch needle work done only from the back of the canvas. Mary McBrearty and her students will be demonstrating this unique art form as well as showing off some of their completed works. Drop by and have a go at it yourself!

    Crocheting

The Crochet Club of London is a registered charity that makes blankets for disadvantaged members of our community and distributes them free of charge. Some of these beautiful handmade blankets will be on display and club members will be on site demonstrating their talents. Maybe they will inspire you to join in! Yarn will be provided to those who would like to work on a portion of a Granny Square blanket which will later be given away. Enter the draw for a basket of yarn and small crocheted items and pick up a free crochet pattern (while supply lasts).

    Cross Stitch

Counting your stitches is the only technique required to produce a true work of art! In fact, you can learn the basic rules in just a few minutes. Materials are inexpensive so that’s an added bonus. Cross stitch is one of the oldest forms of embroidery and is practiced worldwide. You can do it too! Learn more about this easy, popular craft from the experts from The Cross Stitcher’s Den.

    Knitting

Be sure to visit the Itch to Stitch booth to see the many beautiful knitted items on display. Take a few minutes and try knitting yourself! Daily demonstrations will be ongoing at the booth and topics will include: Learn to Knit, How to Knit Using the Magic Loop Method, Knitting socks on Two Circular Needles, Learn to Knit the Log Cabin Pattern and Moebius Knitting. Demonstration times will be posted. Try knitting with needles, the round loom and the knitting board. Kids will enjoy learning to make pompoms!

    London Camera Club

Used to be that you’d take a picture, drop it off for processing and a few days later, pick up a packet of your photos. Digital changed all that. Now you can do it all yourself! Members of the London Camera Club will be on hand to talk about digital photography and answer questions. They will also be showcasing some of their award-winning projected images on a 60” television screen.

    Stamp Art

Alesha Walls and her team of Stampin’ Up demonstrators invite you to drop by and get creative! Get a free ticket at the booth for one of their complimentary classes - greeting card making, rubber stamping or scrapbooking. Samples of each are on display and ideas abound! While you’re there, get information on hosting workshops, joining a local crafting club or attending a class. Express yourself artistically in a way that’s fun and easy!

    The London Potters Guild

This booth will feature the works of clay artists, beginner to experienced. Clay artists will be on site demonstrating hand building, wheel pottery and sculpting. Samples of their creations will be on display. If this is something you’d like to try your hand at, ask them about their fall classes and workshops – available for all ages.
